For attendees wanting to collect their badge on Monday 30 October 2017 the registration desk will be located on Level 2 in the Convention Centre.
For attendees arriving and collecting their badge between Tuesday 31 October – Thursday 2 November, the registration desk will be located outside Door 1 of the Exhibition Centre.
PLEASE NOTE all attendees are required to provide photo identification to collect their badge and will be subject to mandatory bag checks before entering the event.
GETTING INTO AUSTRALIA
International visitors that are non-Australian passport holders will require a visa to enter Australia for arrival to Melbourne for IMARC
From UK & Europe
If you hold a passport from UK or Europe, you can apply for authorisation to travel to Australia online. The most common visa for these passport holders is the eVisitor (Business Stream) visa. There is no application or service fee. Applications can be made here.
From USA, Canada & Asia
Passport holders from USA, Canada or Asia can also apply for a visa online. The most common visa for these passport holders is the ETA (Business Entrant)(Subclass 601). There is no visa application charge for this visa but a service fee of AUD $20 is charged for online applications. Applications can be made here.
Please note: It can take time to receive a visa. Please begin the process of applying for a visa at least 45 days prior to your departure for Australia.
Letter of Invitation
Submitting an official Letter of Invitation from IMARC with your application is an important step in this process. The letter itself will not guarantee your application’s approval. The letter is merely supplementary information that explains an applicant’s intended travel purpose.
To receive a Letter of Invitation for IMARC please follow the instructions below:
- Register for IMARC
- During the registration process for IMARC, please state that you need a Letter of Invitation
- Upon request, be prepared to provide your date of birth and passport number to the IMARC customer service team.
Your letter of invitation will be emailed to you after your registration has been completed and your payment has been received.
Print your Letter of Invitation in colour and submit it with your visa application to the Embassy/Consulate alongside all other required documents.

The SkyBus transports visitors directly from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross train station.
Bus route 237 operates from Queen Victoria Market, via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street South Wharf from Monday to Friday. Lorimer Street is approximately a five minute walk to MCEC. There is also a coach pick up/drop off point at Bay 1, Convention Centre Place (closest to DFO South Wharf).

Take any train that goes to Southern Cross Station. Get off at Southern Cross Station and catch tram number 96, 109 or 12 as above. For further train timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website here.
Catch any of the following trams and get off at the stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC:
- Route 96 – St Kilda to East Brunswick
- Route 109 – Port Melbourne to Box Hill
- Route 12 – Victoria Gardens to St Kilda
