Helen is a geologist with a diverse background in both academia and the minerals industry. Helen completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours at the University of Sydney, before moving to ANU to complete her PhD in geochemistry. She held two Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Calgary in Canada, before making her escape into the minerals industry as an exploration geologist in the Pilbara. Helen has since worked extensively in gold and base metals exploration throughout Australia before founding her own consulting company, providing niche technical advice to mineral exploration companies working around the world. Helen made the move into Government late last year, joining the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy as the Director of Minerals Geoscience within the Geological Survey of Queensland. In her current role she is responsible for promoting, enabling and supporting mineral exploration in Queensland.
