Join over 1,000 leaders from around the world at the Palladium at Crown to celebrate mining excellence at the IMARC Gala Dinner.
Providing an insight into leadership in the minerals industry; an evolving industry in a changing world, we are proud to announce that Andrew Michelmore AO will headline the Gala Dinner.
Andrew Michelmore AO is the Immediate Past Chairman of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), former Chairman of the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) and former CEO of MMG Limited (the international affiliate of China Minmetals Corporation).
Having already sold out due to overwhelming demand, the much anticipated IMARC Gala Dinner now has a new venue, the Palladium at Crown, so tickets are now back on sale, but they won’t last long!
In addition to Andrew Michelmore’s keynote address, the night will entail drinks and a sumptuous three course dining experience, as well a number of awards presentations:
Mines and Money will present the annual Legend in Mining Award
AusIMM will be presenting 2018 AusIMM Award for Exceptional Leadership
The AusIMM Award for Exceptional Leadership recognises outstanding individuals who have demonstrated a genuine commitment to driving the resources industry and its professionals forward. The resources industry landscape is constantly changing, bringing new challenges and opportunities for professionals. Disruption and innovation are propelling the industry into the future. The true success of this transformation relies on key professionals who show exemplary leadership. This award is provided annually to an industry leader who has showcased outstanding commitment, in the wake of numerous challenges, to advancing the industry and the development of professionals – who are the heart and soul of the mining sector.
There will also be plenty of time for networking throughout the evening.
This year’s dinner will also host the 2018 Melbourne Cup for the evening, thanks to its manufacturer, ABC Bullion. The renowned “Loving Cup” has been produced using gold that has been mined, refined, and crafted wholly in Australia for the first time in its 150-year history.
Valued at $200,000, the 18 carat gold trophy contains 44 pieces that are hand spun over a 250-hour production process and weighs 1.65kgs. Sponsored by Lexus, the Melbourne Cup trophy’s three handles symbolise the relationship between the winning jockey, trainer and owner and its timber base is hand turned from Australian Jarrah.
Thanks to our major sponsor METS Ignited and the cup creator ABC Bullion, photo opportunities with the Melbourne Cup will be available at the IMARC Gala Dinner for its guests.
