For mining applications, RIEGL offers a broad portfolio of long range terrestrial 3D laser scanners. The new VZ-2000i 3D Laser Scanner combines proven user friendliness in the field with fast and highly accurate data acquisition. Its new processing architecture enables execution of different background tasks (such as point cloud registration, geo-referencing, orientation via integrated IMU etc.) at the same time as the acquisition of scan data. With a 1.2 MHz laser pulse repetition rate, up to 500,000 measurements/second, range measurements up to 2,500m, and 5mm accuracy, the scanner sets a new bench mark in surveying of open-pit mines, quarries and dump sites. The real-time, on-board registered point clouds can be directly uploaded to remote storage and to the cloud to apply further automated analysis steps common in monitoring, autonomous machine control, volume calculations, blast planning, and break line extraction.
For extremely long ranges, RIEGL also offers the VZ-4000 and VZ-6000 3D Laser Scanners with excellent measurement capabilities for ranges up to more than 4,000m and respectively 6,000m.
With RiSCAN PRO (efficient data acquisition and registration) and RiMINING (open-pit mining optimized workflows), RIEGL software packages complement the hardware suite to optimally meet the mine surveyor’s requirements.
Additionally, various RIEGL mobile mapping systems, laser scanners and fully-integrated turnkey solutions for airborne applications, as well as LiDAR sensors for unmanned laser scanning, and the RiCOPTER – RIEGL’s high-performance turnkey solution for professional UAS surveying missions – are available for mine surveying missions.
All RIEGL LiDAR sensors and system are characterized by compact and rugged designs, highest measurement capabilities and performance under adverse environmental conditions – ideally suited for applications in the harsh environment of open-cast mines, quarries and dump sites.
RIEGL maintains an outstanding history of reliability and support. Worldwide sales, training, support and services are delivered from RIEGL’s Austrian headquarters and its offices in Vienna, and Salzburg, main offices in the USA, Japan, and in China, and by a worldwide network of representatives.
