It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2017 International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Melbourne.
IMARC is one of the world’s leading international mining conferences, bringing together over 3,000 leaders, researchers, investors and policy experts from across the globe for four days of innovating, collaborating and networking.
The programme for this year’s conference – spanning topics such as infrastructure, future energy and new technology – will give delegates the latest information and insight. This year’s IMARC is again being held in the birthplace of mining in Australia. The gold rushes of the 1850s were key to our state’s early growth, and marked the beginning
of an industry that has been critical to our nation’s prosperity.
Today, due to that rich history and as Australia’s foremost innovation hub, Melbourne has a global competitive edge. On behalf of the Victorian Government I welcome you to our city, and wish you a successful and rewarding conference.
The Hon Daniel Andrews MP
