Amol is a Chemical Engineer with a Masters in Business Management. He has more than 25 years of work experience and specializes in business development and application engineering of Solid-Liquid Separation technologies. As Manager for the Mining and Minerals Industry at Alfa Laval, he helps miners optimize their processes, generate operational savings and open up new revenue channels, including in areas such as safe and sustainable tailings management.
During the initial period of his career Amol had the opportunity to work with Dai Ichi Karkaria, a company producing specialty chemicals, where he developed interest in separation chemistry including synthetic flocculants, flotation reagents and surfactants. Thereafter Amol ventured into business development of mechanical separation equipment such as hi-rate and paste thickeners as well as various types of filters during his tenures with GL&V and KHD Humboldt Wedag.
During the last 10+ years, Amol has been working with Alfa Laval where he has grown the solid-bowl centrifuge business by developing new applications in various industries within the Energy as well as Natural Resources sectors.
Currently Amol is based out of Sweden and leads Alfa Laval’s initiative in offering the solid-bowl centrifuge as a safe and sustainable technology for treatment of mine tailings.
Amol has published a few technical papers notable among which is the paper titled “Muddy juice de-sweetening using Alfa Laval decanters”. This paper won the best technical paper award at an international symposium in 2010 for its innovative approach.
