Mr. Arun Misra born on 8th May 1965 at Batanagar, West Bengal, completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in the year 1988. He joined underground coal mines of Jharia Division in the same year as Graduate Engineer Trainee. After completion of training he was transferred to open cast coal mining of West Bokaro Division, where he worked in Electrical Maintenance of Coal Beneficiation Group. He was promoted to Asst Divisional Manager (Technical) in 1998 and posted in Jharia where he went on to become Head of Jamadoba Washery in 2000. In 2003 he was promoted to Chief (Coal Beneficiation) at West Bokaro. He then joined Iron Ore Mine as General Manager in 2007 and later on served as Principal Executive Officer to the Managing Director from 2010 till 2012. He was appointed as Vice President (Operations) at Tata Steel Kalinganagar Plant in 2012 and in 2014 as Vice President (Gopalpur Project) and Managing Director Tata Steel SEZ ltd till 31st July 2018. He has taken over the charge of Vice President (Raw Material Division) on 15th November 2018. He is also the Vice President of Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers and has been awarded for papers published in Tata Search.
