Dr Davila is highly experienced executive with over 30 years of operational, technical, management, commercial and M&A roles in the steel, iron ore and coal industries. He is currently the Head of Strategy, Business Development & JVs for Anglo American’s Metallurgical Coal business in Australia and Canada and represents Anglo American on the boards of its major non-managed joint ventures in coal and manganese. Prior to joining Anglo American, Carlos worked with BHP for 19 years in a variety of operational, technical, management and business development roles.
Carlos gained a Bachelor in Engineering (Metallurgy) and Doctorate Degrees from Imperial College in England before moving to Australia. Carlos has strong business acumen and negotiating skills and has led the transactions and negotiations for several very large acquisitions and divestments.
Carlos will take part in a panel discussion on what differences the major and mid-tier miners are looking for from junior miners and explorers; particularly in terms of forming JVs and alliances. This panel will form part of the Investment session at IMARC 2019. Download the programme now.
