Graeme has over 35 years of experience in the mining sector in a range of roles, countries and commodities throughout Asia, the Pacific, and Africa.
He developed his early career as a geologist in New Zealand followed by 16 years in Papua New Guinea including 5 years as Director of Mines for the Government of Papua New Guinea.
His work experience includes 11 years as a mining sector specialist at the World Bank advising Governments on mining sector policy in many developing countries across the globe.
Prior to joining Newcrest in early 2016, Graeme spent 7 years in Mongolia where he had several different roles including Senior Mining Specialist for Asia Pacific with the World Bank, Director for Strategy and Business Development for Rio Tinto in Mongolia, Chief Operating Officer at Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi, as well as Chief Representative for Anglo American.
Graeme holds a Masters Degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Waikato in New Zealand, and a PhD in Mineral Economics from the University of Queensland.
