Janine has 30 years’ experience in the resources industry, encompassing executive management, consulting, technical and production roles, across base metals, uranium, precious metals and industrial minerals. Janine has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing) from the University of Queensland and has worked on many regional and remote sites around Australia. Based in Adelaide for the past 15 years, Janine has a consulting business, MetVal, specialising in due diligence work, desktop reviews, and independent audits in the field of mineral sands processing and tailings management.
Janine joined the AusIMM in 1991 and was admitted as a Fellow and Chartered Professional in 2009. After 6 years as a Director of AusIMM Janine was elected as the Board Chair and President for 2019 and 2020. Janine continues to serve on her local AusIMM Adelaide Branch Committee where she been instrumental in working with students from a broad range of disciplines on scholarship and mentoring initiatives.
In addition to Convening the MetPlant series of conferences for AusIMM, Janine serves on conference Committees for Mill Operator’s, International Uranium and World Gold.
A big supporter of inclusion in every aspect of her life, Janine believes the strength of AusIMM lies in the diversity of multidisciplinary membership and strong commitment to upholding professional codes and standards. She is also a keen ambassador for the AusIMM upholding itself as ‘the trusted voice’ and single source of truth for resource professionals and for building on its 126-year history with continued ongoing relevance.
