Janine Herzig has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing) from the University of Queensland. She has more than 25 years of experience in the minerals industry, encompassing executive management, consulting, technical and production roles with companies including Mount Isa Mines, WMC and Iluka Resources as Principal Metallurgist. Following her site roles, Janine Herzig moved to Adelaide to take on the role of General Manager with AMDEL (now BV), providing mineral testing services (mineral processing, geoanalytical, mineralogical and materials testing) to the mining industry.
In 2009 Janine Herzig established a consulting business, undertaking due diligence projects, desktop reviews, independent audits and acting as an expert witness in the field of mineral sands processing and tailings management.
Janine Herzig has served on the Adelaide Branch Committee of the AusIMM since 2005, was elected to the AusIMM Board in 2013 and re-elected for a second term in 2015. Always passionate about the industry and the Institute, she also serves on specialist committees including Ethics, Governance, Professional Accreditation, and the Policy and Advocacy Committee which she has Chaired since 2014.
