Jose is widely acknowledged as one of the leading players in promoting closer business ties between Australia and Latin America, and Australia and Spain.
Jose is Founder and Managing Director of the cross-border advisory firm, Blanco Partners; Chairman Emeritus of the Australia-Latin America Business Council and Director of Eurodivisas Global Exchange Australia.
He previously served as Country Manager, Australia & New Zealand of Spain’s Banco Santander (1990-2011); Chairman of the Australia-Latin America Business Council (1992-2018); Vice Chairman of the Council on Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR) (2001-2010); and President of the Spanish Official Chamber of Commerce in Australia (2001-2008).
In 2019 Jose was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to Australia-Latin America business relations. His contribution to his country of birth, Spain, was recognised in 1992 when he was awarded the nation’s ‘Orden de Mérito Civil’. In 1995 Jose received Chile’s ‘Orden de Bernardo O’Higgins’.
