Li Xinchuang, enjoying special allowance approved by the State Council, Professorate Senior Engineer and registered consulting engineer (investment). Now he works as President and Chief Engineer of China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute (MPI), Vice Chairman of China Iron & Steel Association (CISA), as well as Director of Technical Economics Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals.
He has participated in and undertaken development planning of China’s iron & steel industry from the “Eighth Five Year Plan” to the “Thirteenth Five Year Plan”. He has participated in and undertaken drafting of key industry policies for the development of China’s iron & steel industry, the adjustment & rejuvenation planning for the iron & steel industry and guideline of overcapacity elimination.
He has participated in and undertaken development planning for several hundred domestic and overseas iron & steel enterprises, as well as early stage debate for key projects. He has published nearly 100 articles on the development of iron & steel industry, and published three books entitled “Sustainable Development of Iron & Steel Industry”, “How to Transform and Upgrade China’s Steel Industry” and “The road map of China’s steel industry– Reduction, Innovation and Transformation”.
