Masaki “Sox” Konno is the Managing Director, Asia Pacific South, Dassault Systèmes. The third largest enterprise software company in the world with EUR3.05mn in revenue and over 15,000 employees globally, Dassault Systèmes helps businesses to model, simulate and collaborate better than ever before on some of most complex projects in the world. Sox is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing overall performance of the company, as well as providing leadership to a team of over 700 staff across the AP South region.
Prior to this, Sox was Vice President, Asia, at BIOVIA, industry-leading software that provides global, collaborative product lifecycle experiences to transform scientific innovation. He joined Dassault Systèmes when the holding company of BIOVIA — Accerlrys — was acquired in 2014. Before that, he grew the business at Accerlrys by almost four-fold to USD40 million and transformed the sales approach from being primarily product based to solution based over an 11-year period.
Sox has also held senior executive positions at Gracenote and Sony. At Gracenote, his team was behind many successful multi-division, multi-product, worldwide initiatives to promote the company’s entertainment technology and music database both in the cloud and on connected devices. Additionally, he worked at Global Crossing Japan and managed to triple sales for various domestic and global accounts when he was there.
Sox spent his formative years in Canada, excelling in team sports such as football, basketball and volleyball in high school. He graduated with a B.B.A. in Marketing with a Minor in Economics from Bishops University in Quebec, Canada, before subsequently moving to Asia for his career and family.
