Steven Micklethwaite is Associate Professor of the School of Earth Atmosphere & Environment in Monash University. Steven Micklethwaite has worked with the minerals industry for 16 years as a geoscientist and innovator. He is directing the establishment of new facilities that combine drones, advanced sensors (hyperspec, LiDAR etc) and AI, as both a service to the industry and a starting point from which new innovations can be developed through industry partnerships. Professional training is provided in both data analysis and pilot certification.
Steven previously held positions at the Australian National University, University of Tasmania (CODES), and University of Western Australia (CET), and was recipient of the Rising Stars Award and the Hammond-Nisbet Endowed Fellowship.
